Releasing Emotion Held in the Body

If you’ve tried talking therapies or other techniques, but still feel like something hasn’t fully shifted, then hopefully this helps.
Conscious Connected Breathwork is a form of breathwork designed to access the subconscious, rather than calm or quiet the mind.
First identified in the 1960s by Leonard Orr, who noticed certain breathing patterns altered brain states.
As babies, we breathe naturally and fully, without restriction.
Over time, life experiences cause us to hold or restrict the breath, which shortens and tightens breathing patterns.
In the guided breathwork sessions, the facilitator observes the person’s unique breathing pattern.
Breath-holding or restriction shows where emotion is being stored, and gentle acupressure points may be used to help release it.
Affirmations are spoken that align with where the breath is restricted, and you start to notice a difference after just a couple of sessions.
Quick exercise you can do whenever you feel stressed, overwhelmed or anxious:
Breathe in for 5 seconds.
Hold for 7.
Release slowly for 8.
This will calm your nervous system and bring you back into a rested state.
This is taken from a recent conversation Rosie had with Kelly from Fire & Soul. If you'd like to listen to the conversation, you can do so here - https://youtu.be/0dezJ3h1x0Y
We hope this helps.
