How to Extend the Effects After Your Treatment

1. Stay Hydrated
It’s important to drink plenty of water after a treatment, especially a massage.
During a massage, the muscles have a ‘work out’, stimulating circulation and increasing lymphatic flow. This boosts the movement of oxygen, nutrients, and metabolic waste through your system. Without enough water, this process can slow down, potentially leaving you feeling sluggish or even give you a headache after a treatment.
If you want to continue feeling the benefits of the treatment, drink plenty of water before going back to your day.
2. Rest & Reflect Afterwards
Relax and rest as much as possible after your treatment, to prolong the effects.
You may have some thoughts that came up during the treatment, so take some time to reflect on these, write them down and think about how you are feeling, before your mind becomes clouded with everyday stress. Our thoughts are often clearer during and straight after a treatment, because our nervous system is in a relaxed state.
Get comfortable with a warm blanket or go outdoors if the sun is out, take some deep breaths and enjoy your peaceful thoughts.
3. Soothe Your Muscles
To keep your body feeling loose, we recommend you do some gentle stretches and have a warm bath, or use a hot water bottle to soothe tension.
Use aromatherapy to set the mood, such as lighting candles or spritzing room sprays and enjoy a herbal tea while in the bath to relax the body and the mind even further. This ensures the blood flow is circulating around your whole body, to continue the healing process.
This helps further enhance the effects of the treatment.
